Articling
When it comes to hiring articling students, our goal is to hire people who we hope will be with the firm on a permanent basis. The majority of the lawyers who are with us today articled with the firm, were re-hired as associates after their Call to the Bar and eventually became partners.
What distinguishes the articling experience with our firm from many other firms is the degree of hands-on litigation experience we offer. At Rachlin & Wolfson, we believe that the best way for people to learn how to become accomplished litigation lawyers is for them to shadow experienced litigators. As a significant part of the articling experience, students attend with our top-notch team of experienced litigation lawyers at examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trial conferences, trials and appeals. We believe that the education obtained by watching our lawyers participate in these proceedings creates an invaluable foundation for students from which to grow.
Of course, students also develop their skills at researching, drafting documents and arguing motions. They can expect to be in court more days than not.
